A closer fit

Your workflow is more than a list of stops

Private sweeping contractors rarely run one simple municipal round. A single week can mix housing developments, construction sites, industrial estates, car parks and emergency call-outs. PaperRoute connects the schedule, truck-aware route, driver evidence, waste record and invoice so every job is easier to prove and close.

Best suited to

Independent road-sweeping and street-cleansing contractors serving construction, facilities-management, highways and commercial customers with one or more sweepers.

01

Contract work and call-outs collide

Fixed weekly visits still need to make room for urgent spill response, builder handovers and weather-related work without losing track of the core schedule.

02

A completed route is not enough proof

Customers may need arrival times, photos, notes and a signed service record before they approve the job or release payment.

03

The collected material still needs a record

Sweepings can have different classifications depending on their source and composition. The operational record must match the actual waste and destination.

One connected flow

From booking to a complete job record

The detail changes by sector. The principle does not: capture the information once, at the point where it is known, and keep it with the job.

  1. 1

    Build contract and reactive jobs

Keep the site, access notes, service scope and customer contact on each job, whether it repeats every week or arrived this morning.

  2. 2

    Plan for the actual vehicle

Sequence jobs with truck-aware routing that can account for HGV restrictions instead of treating a sweeper like a car.

  3. 3

    Capture proof at the kerb

Drivers record timestamps, notes, photos and signatures in the app, with core work available when mobile coverage drops.

  4. 4

Close the service and waste record

Keep the configured waste details and supporting documents with the job, then move approved work into customer invoicing.

Compliance context

Classify sweepings by source and composition

Street-cleaning residues are commonly associated with EWC code 20 03 03, but that is not a blanket code for every sweeping job. Material from a construction site or a contaminated spill may need a different assessment and record.

Environment Agency RPS 65 covers a specific dewatering activity for street sweepings and explicitly excludes gully suckings and interceptor waste. It should not be treated as general permission for all sweeper material.

Configure approved waste streams in PaperRoute, then require the responsible operator to verify the description, classification, carrier and destination for the actual job.

Operational outcomes

What a connected workflow changes

Quicker response to urgent work

Add and allocate a reactive job without rebuilding every driver's paperwork for the day.

Stronger proof of attendance

Keep route progress, timestamps, site notes, photos and customer acknowledgement with the service record.

Cleaner job-to-invoice hand-off

Give the office a completed record to review rather than a collection of paper sheets and chat messages.

Common questions

Road sweeping contractors FAQs

Can PaperRoute manage both contracted sweeps and emergency call-outs?

Yes. PaperRoute can hold repeat work alongside ad-hoc jobs, let the office allocate or move work and send the updated run to the driver's app.

Can it show that a sweeper attended a site?

PaperRoute can keep route progress and GPS history alongside driver timestamps, notes, photos and signatures. Decide which evidence your contract requires and configure the workflow accordingly.

Does every road-sweeping job use EWC code 20 03 03?

No. That code is commonly used for street-cleaning residues, but material must be classified according to its actual source and composition. Construction-site, spill or contaminated material may differ.

Will the route planner account for larger vehicles?

PaperRoute uses truck-aware routing data for restrictions such as height, weight and HGV access, helping avoid the car-routing assumptions found in generic field-service tools.
