Can my subcontractors see my customer pricing?
No. Pricing is stripped from every response sent to the subcontractor portal. Your subcontractors only see what they need to do the job — site address, contact, waste stream, quantities — never your customer rates, never your other subcontractors, never any data they shouldn't have.
Do I need vehicles or drivers to use PaperRoute Broker?
No. PaperRoute Broker is built for brokers who don't carry waste themselves. Every job goes out to a vetted subcontractor through their own portal — they accept it, complete it, upload the WTN and photos, and you raise the invoice. You never have to touch a bin.
How are subcontractors onboarded?
You add a subcontractor with just their company name and email. They receive an invite link, set their own password, and complete a 5-step onboarding wizard themselves: company details, contact, compliance documents (waste carrier licence, public liability insurance, employer's liability), and vehicles. You're notified when they finish, with a full compliance summary in the email — including any document expiring in the next 60 days. No more chasing PDFs over WhatsApp.
What stops me assigning a job to an out-of-date subcontractor?
PaperRoute Broker blocks assignment automatically if a subcontractor's waste carrier licence or public liability insurance has expired. The job picker shows red, amber and green indicators on every subcontractor's compliance status, and the management screen flags anything expiring within 30 days. Supporting records stay together and searchable.
What happens if my subcontractor refuses a job mid-week?
They can decline any job from their portal — with an optional reason. The job drops straight back into your dispatch queue and the picker remembers who declined it, so you don't accidentally re-assign to the same person. You can reassign to a different subcontractor with a single click.
How does PaperRoute Broker support Digital Waste Tracking preparation?
As the broker, you remain responsible for your legal duties. PaperRoute Broker creates a digital Waste Transfer Note for each subcontracted collection and keeps the movement record with the job. Collectors, carriers, brokers and dealers enter the rollout in October 2027.
How does PaperRoute Broker protect my business information?
Your team signs in to a password-protected account, with access based on each person's role. We use encrypted connections, keep each customer's company data in a separate database, and protect the systems behind PaperRoute Broker with regular updates, monitoring and database backups. Suppliers see the jobs and instructions assigned to them, while your customer pricing and private office notes stay in your broker view.
How does the 75p per completed job work?
It's a single line on your invoice. Only jobs your subcontractor actually marks as complete in the portal are charged — declined or cancelled jobs cost you nothing. As an example, 200 completed jobs/month = £250 base + £150 = £400/month. All ex-VAT.
Is training and onboarding included?
Yes. Every new broker account gets a free setup call with our team to walk you through inviting your first subcontractors, configuring your accounting integration, and converting an existing customer enquiry into your first subcontracted job. UK-based support by phone and email is included.
Can I migrate from spreadsheets, AMCS, BigChange or another system?
Yes. Most brokers come from a mix of Excel and email. We import your existing customers, subcontractor list and active jobs as part of free setup. Most brokers are live and dispatching real work within a week.
